At Medscience Education, the safety, wellbeing, and protection of children, young people, and vulnerable adults are our highest priorities. We are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for every learner in accordance with UK safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

Introduction

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We are committed to promoting the welfare of all learners and ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to protect children, young people, and vulnerable adults from harm.

Our safeguarding practices apply across all educational services, including in-person tuition, online learning, residential programmes, workshops, and academic support.

Safeguarding Measures

• Mandatory safeguarding training for staff with regular refresher training.

• Clear safeguarding reporting and escalation processes.

• Secure learning environments for both online and in-person teaching.

• Appropriate supervision during face-to-face sessions and educational events.

Online Learning Safeguarding

We recognise the importance of maintaining safeguarding standards during online learning. Our online safeguarding measures include:

• Teaching delivered only through approved online platforms.

• Professional, education-focused communication at all times.

• Sessions may be recorded where appropriate for safeguarding purposes.

• Parents or guardians are encouraged to supervise younger learners during online sessions.

• Staff are expected to follow our online conduct and safeguarding guidelines.

Reporting Safeguarding Concerns

Any safeguarding concern involving a learner, member of staff, or volunteer should be reported immediately. All concerns are treated confidentially, investigated appropriately, and escalated to relevant safeguarding authorities where necessary.

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Medscience Education appoints a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who is responsible for:

• Receiving and managing safeguarding concerns.

• Maintaining safeguarding records.

• Liaising with local authorities and external safeguarding agencies.

• Providing safeguarding advice and guidance to staff.

• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation and organisational policies.
